Winst en verlies / Future June on Yamagata
Weeks before the 2014 World Cup, four workers in São Paulo were followed by Maria Ramos, with her clinical, rigourous eye. Between professional situations and intimate moments, these real-life characters reveal utopias and disillusions in confronting the challenges of the country’s largest city. The director looks at the plurality of urban experiences and the paradoxes and contradictions typical in Brazilian society.
Future June is selected for the international competition Yamagata en shown on October 9th and 11th in this festival.
Future June, the film by Maria Ramos premiered in Brasil at Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival on October 4th 2015. Maria Ramos won an award for best direction in the documentary section.
