The film Floating Bodies begins when a body is found in the water. The dead body leads us to the five main characters who run as much tracks needed until the remains can be reunited with its family. The mortal remains pass on from one person to another as its meaning transforms: a lost and found object becomes a human being again.
Floating Bodies shows us how daily persuits as a cup of coffee and joking around can exist aside taking care of a perishing body.
Director Nelleke Koop developed the filmplan of Floating Bodies during the IDFA-Mediafund Workshop 2011. She won the Mediafundaward Documentary 2011, which was used to realize the filmplan. This documentary is a co-production of Selfmade Films and HUMAN.
