150.000 citizens in the province Groningen are living in an earthquake area. The cause of these earthquakes are the drilling-operations for natural gas of the NAM (Dutch Natural Gas Enterprise). Tests say that the earthquakes in northern Holland will get worse in time. The inhabitants are scared, frustrated and angry; they have known for over 20 years that the earthquakes and the drilling-operations are connected, but the NAM has denied that for a long time. Meanwhile, a lot of houses are heavily damaged, the value of the houses is collapsing and the inhabitants are in danger. However, the natural gas is a highly important source of income for the Netherlands and the gouvernment will go very far to keep on gaining the natural gas. The people from Groningen want it to stop. How far will they take their battle?
A co-production of Selfmade Films and NCRV Dokument, also financed by the CoBo-fund.
